Community programme is growing and developing

As we started the "Community programme" back in March, we can now tell that some changes have taken place. The main goal of the project is to work with families within the community and use our recourses as an NGO to create a system where children but also adults get the opportunity to improve daily skills. At the moment, we distinguish between two offers, the "Community Daycare Programme" and the "Community Project" itself, where different activities are organised.

Our volunteers Anna and Milan conduct various activities with 14 children, aged 6 to 13 years, four times a week in the "Community Daycare Programme". The kids come to Endasi in the morning and participate in classes or workshops to learn the basics of reading, writing, some maths or art. Additionally, they have fun with sports, baking or just playing games. The aim of the "Community Daycare Programme" is to support the education of children who are unable to attend school for different reasons on the one hand and to assist their parents by taking care of the kids during daytime, so they can use this time for work, on the other hand. The programme is not about replacing a school, it is more about creating a setting where the kids are mentally engaged and out of their daily family life.

The "Community Project" is organised by all six volunteers, especially Ronja and Noah, and includes activities such as sports or computing classes within the community. All the children from the neighbourhood are welcome to join the project three times a week and every Saturday. A highlight so far has been football matches against other schools a few weeks ago. The project creates a place where children out of the community learn different scills for life and also involves the Endasi kids every Saturday, so they can interact with other children and make friends within the community.

We are very proud that the structures of Endasi made this growth possible and we are looking forward to all the things to come!

More detailed information about the programme can be found on our website soon.
